FORT CARSON — Hundreds of soldiers at Fort Carson continue to prepare for the call of duty, but the training they have been doing lately is a little different than normal.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fort Carson officials say they have had to adapt their training to including screening soldiers for the virus, wiping down equipment, using hand sanitizer and wearing personal protective gear at all times.

"With the changing environment we have to adapt, we have to be creative, we have to be safe, but we can still do this and our individual readiness it really matters, its vital to us being ready to answer our nations call at a moments notice," said Sgt. Major Matthew Richter.

This is only one of many exercises happening at Fort Carson, providing critical training skills for soldiers preparing for fight on the front lines.
