Fort Carson deploys 627th Hospital Center to Washington in support of COVID-19 medical efforts

On Friday, 200 personnel from the 627th Hospital Center from Ft. Carson Base were deployed to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington in support of FEMA and their medical efforts in the Seattle area.

The hospital center has the ability to provide up to 248 beds for COVID-19 effected patients. There mission is to help take the load off of the state's health care system.

"The initial 32 bed will go up in 72 hours and then as we continue to build out to 148 beds that's another 4 days on top of that 7 days it will take about 6 to 7 days," said Jason Hughes Lt. Colonel US Army commander of the 10th Field Hospital.

The 10th Field Hospital has the capability to become an almost level 1 Trauma Center anywhere in the world with labs and microbiology capability and it also brings a Ministry.

They will be deployed until no longer needed.
