FORT CARSON — The 3rd Brigade Combat Team held a Black History Month celebration Wednesday on Fort Carson.
Lieutenant Coloner Curtis Bowe, the only African American commanding officer in the 4th Infantry Division, was a guest speak.
Bowe said that him being in this role shows others that the sky is the limit.
"You can do anything you put your mind to. So living with that mentality on a day to day basis, it shows soldiers, whether they are a private, whether they are a first lieutenant, it doesn't matter what color they are, if they put hard work into it, the hard work ethic, then they can do anything," Bowe said.
