FOUNTAIN — The Fountain Police Department has a special new flag, thanks to a donation.

Phyllis Marvin retired from the Red Cross a few years ago after 40 years of service.

When she retired her family gave her a flag that had flown over the White House as a gift.

Thursday she presented it to members of the Fountain Police Department, who say they will fly it on special occasions.

"It will bring a lot of good memories because every place that I've been stationed, there's always been an American flag flying. so it's a good memory," said Marvin.

She said one of the reasons she didn't keep the flag is that ti's just too big for her home.
