COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the past two months, local artists offered a virtual art and music experience instead of the monthly First Friday event, due to COVID-19. Tonight, the event is back for in person enjoyment!

The online events were allowed artists to pay their bills and put food on the table, according to Claire Swinford, Director of urban engagement with the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs. You will still be able to access the online event this month as well at peakradar.com.

Now, galleries are overjoyed to bring back the First Friday Downtown event on July 3rd from 5-8 pm. The galleries and downtown venues will be adhering to health guidelines, and many are encouraging masks to be worn.

This month's event will also bring an opportunity for your purchases to be matched in a donation to local organizations that support Black Lives Matter and empower local Black communities. Organizations who will receive donationsare Poetry719, COS Black Business Network, and My Black Colorado.

Old Colorado City will also hold an art walk this evening from 5-7 pm in person.
