Wildfire on Fort Carson has burned at least 15 acres

FORT CARSON — Multiple agencies are working to contain a grass fire on post at Fort Carson Thursday afternoon.

El Paso County Wildland Fire and Hanover Fire Department are at the scene.

That fire is located at the far south end of the base, east of Camp Red Devil. It's estimated to be about 15 to 25 acres,and is burning in rough terrain.

Officials have requested air resources and two more hotshot crews.

There's no word on containment, but the fire is not currently threatening any structures.

The cause remains under investigation.
