Fire department responds to early morning fire, 1 person jumped from second floor

PUEBLO — The Pueblo Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Monday morning where a person escaped by jumping out of a second-story window.

The department said they were notified around 3 a.m. by a caller who said they saw flames and reported 2 people were trapped in a building near downtown.

Fire units responded and treated one person who jumped from a second-story window before firefighters arrived, according to the department.

There were no other injuries reported and firefighters had the situation resolved by 5 a.m.
