TELLER COUNTY — The Teller County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is investigating a felony animal abuse case in which the suspect is accused of killing two of his roommate's dogs.

According to the TCSO, 30-year-old Matthew Dieringer allegedly beat his roommate's dogs to death and then dismembered them. The dogs were a seven-year-old Australian Cattle Dog and another dog that was not described in detail by the Sheriff's Office.

The TCSO said Dieringer was last seen in the Manitou Springs area and now has an active felony warrant for two counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty. He may have dyed his hair to a darker color.
