COLORADO SPRINGS — Northbound I-25 has reopened in central Colorado Springs following the investigation into a deadly auto/pedestrian crash Monday evening.
According to police, the incident happened before the Fontanero exit. The northbound lanes of I-25 were closed at Uintah.
CSPD said that four people were running across the highway and one of them was struck and killed. That person had been identified only as an adult male at this time.
A second accident occurred between two other vehicles who were distracted by the initial crash, according to CSPD.
According to CSPD, this is the 24th traffic fatality this year. There were 25 at this time last year.
