PUEBLO — 15-year-old Isaac Lucero was shot and killed in Pueblo five years ago, and his family rallied together for a balloon release to remember his life and ask people to come forward with information about the case.

Whether the family lost their brother, son, or cousin, they said they hold these annual events to keep the memory of Isaac alive. "He was smart, he was caring, loving, he loved his family the most, he'd do anything for his family," said his sister, Angelic Lucero.

His father said they are not entirely sure what happened, but they have heard a version of the story. "My son was walking down the street with some cousins of his, confronted some guys that jumped him a year earlier, I guess they didn't want a fight, so they pulled out a gun and shot him," said Isaac Lucero Sr.

They hope now five years later, that someone who knows more about this case will come forward and tell police. "Just turn yourself in, do the right thing... We just want closure," said Desirae Lucero.

If you do know anything about this crime, the family encourages you to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at (719)542-7867.
