EL PASO COUNTY — If you are driving on I-25 between Monument and Larkspur this week, you can expect more delays.

As part of the 18-mile I-25 South Gap project, CDOT crews will replace 9 miles of drainage pipes. Crews have already installed more than 7 miles of new drainage pipe, and upcoming lane closures will allow crews to do more.

Crews will remove the asphalt pavement, replace the pipes at a depth of up to 15 feet, and then re-pave with asphalt.

CDOT says you can expect delays of about 20 minutes due to the closures.

Here is a list of the closures:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., single lane closure along northbound I-25 about two miles north of Greenland Road
  • Single lane closures extending up to 1.5 miles on northbound I-25 just south of Upper Lake Gulch Road on three different dates:
    • From 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, to 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2
    • From 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3
    • From 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4

CDOT says you can expect delays of about 20 minutes due to the closures.
