COLORADO SPRINGS — Evacuations are lifted for an apartment complex near Tutt Boulevard and Woodmen Road following Colorado Springs firefighter response to a hit line in a construction area.

Crews were working to access a 2-inch in diameter gas line outside the Lodge at Black Forest in a new development construction area, according to the City of Colorado Springs. It is unknown how the line was breached.

News5 has learned the line is buried beneath river rock, which will require the use of a backhoe to dig up the earth to allow crews to clamp the line. Ten people were evacuated from a building with no reported injuries.

Repairs are anticipated to be complete by mid-afternoon Tuesday with restored service.
