Victim identified in Stratmoor Hills homicide

EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim killed in Saturday's homicide in the Stratmoor Hills area.

At about 10:52 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office received a call about a shooting in the 1600 block of Maxwell St.

When deputies arrived, they found a deceased female. She has been identified as 84-year-old Christine Rush.

The investigation revealed that during the incident, at least one shot had been fired at a second victim.

The suspect, who has been identified as 58-year-old Rhaiyanna Earley, was still on scene when deputies arrived. She was booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges of murder in the first degree and attempted murder in the second degree.
