EL PASO COUNTY — UPDATE: According to court documents, the case against Nathan Hardage was dismissed in May of 2021.

Nathaniel Hardage was arrested Thursday, February 20 at the El Paso County Courthouse when he arrived to appear on other cases related to alleged contractor fraud and felony assault.

Hardage owns Aspen Peaks Roofing & Contractors LLC. This is the third time the sheriff's office has arrested him in 2019 for this type of alleged criminal activity.

In the most recent case, Hardage is accused of stealing $21,500 from a homeowner in Cascade. The Sheriff's Office says Hardage entered into a contract to replace the victim's roof in August 2018.

The victim was allegedly pressured to pay for everything up front, saying he promised to finish the project quickly. But after only a partial removal of the old roof was completed the following month, the victim said she could not get the company to return and finish the work.

In the past year the Sheriff's Office Financial Crimes Unit has made eight arrests related to contractor fraud.

Anyone who has been a victim of this type of fraud is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555, or report it to any local law enforcement agency.
