El Paso County Sheriff's Office alerting community of sexually violent predator

COLORADO SPRINGS — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office issued a notification Wednesday of a sexually violent predator who moved to an address in the county. The community notification is in accordance with Colorado law concerning this type of offender.

The sheriff's office said 57-year-old Warren Wayne Carrell is registered at a residence in the 2300 block of Zebra Point, just off Constitution Avenue and Highway 24. He is currently on supervised release.

Carrell's criminal history provided by the sheriff's office shows he was convicted of child molesting in Indiana in 1998 and convicted of two counts of child molesting.

He is described as being 5'10" tall and weighing 198 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He is one of four SVPs registered with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Under Colorado law, law enforcement agencies are required to notify the community when a SVP moves into the area.
