EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Fair will go on this year, but not for everyone.

This year's fair won't include rides, concessions, or events when it kicks off this weekend.

It will also be closed to the public, with access limited to FFA and 4-H participants in livestock competition.

The livestock sale will take place on the fair's final day through virtual showings in respect for families that have worked so hard on their projects.

"We're limiting capacity in all the buildings and barns, and so for us to do that, we're only able to have the participants, the judges, and a few of their family," said Todd Marts, El Paso County Recreation/Cultural Services Manager.

Marts said organizers will look into having some fair events at a later date, or improving events for next year.

He said to his knowledge the fair has never been canceled.
