El Paso Co. Sheriff's Office investigating kidnapping

EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating a kidnapping that occurred on Jan. 3.

According to the Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a call around 8 p.m. on Jan. 3 reporting a robbery in the 18700 block of Birdseye View. The reporting party said the suspects were armed and there were five children in the home.

The Sheriff's Office said their investigation revealed that four men wearing jean and black shirts had broken into the home and assaulted two of the children. They were not seriously injured.

The investigation also revealed that an adult male had been kidnapped at gunpoint.

The victim (seen above) has been identified as 24-year-old Karel Lopez-Hurtado.

The Sheriff's Office said the unknow suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous.
