PUEBLO — Christmas is over and Pueblo has a place where you can dump your tree for free.
The Southside Landfill in Pueblo will be having a Christmas tree drop off on five different dates.
You can drop them off on January 8 and 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and January 2, 9, and 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"It's important for those who have holiday trees in Pueblo to take them to the landfill this year to be recycled because we will keep them from illegally dumping and littering our highways, our roads, and just taking up space in a landfill," Sarah Joseph with the Pueblo Dept. of Public Health and Environment said.
Only trees will be accepted and thus must be free of decorations, stands, wires, and nails.
After the trees are collected they will be turned into mulch.
