PUEBLO COUNTY — Checking road safety requires a personal touch in Pueblo County District 70.
Any time the district anticipates a snowstorm that could impact the school day, seven district employees drive the roads leading to schools early in the morning to determine if they are safe to drive.
They then make to call on whether to have a remote or in-person learning day.
"We are trying our best to maximize that in-person learning time for students to get those kids back into the classroom as safely as possible and just make sure they are connected with their teachers and connected with each other," Todd Seip said.
The seven employees drive a little more than 600 miles combined.
