EL PASO COUNTY — In a letter to D49 recipients, the district has challenged the community to 'pitch in by making and sharing your craziest, coolest, and most Colorado masks around'.

Last week, Gov. Jared Polis urged all Coloradans to wear masks when outside of home.

The masks would be for the community and workforce for traveling and interacting with the community. D49 is looking to alleviate the need for masks from the State of Colorado so those masks can go to first responders and health care workers.

The district says that you mask could be featured for Fantastic 49 and you could be named and E49 Hero.

District 49 will be accepting masks at Evans Elementary, Odyssey Elementary, and Falcon Elementary, from 11 to 11:45 a.m., Monday through Friday.
