PUEBLO — CSU Pueblo's Nursing Program was helping expecting mothers and families Tuesday with their annual community baby shower.

The program gave away items like diapers, formula, books, as well as helpful information about resources like mommy groups and the WIC Program, which gives moms and families resources, knowledge, and tools to help and support their family.

"We had a car come through and they didn't have their child in a car seat, so the students went and talked to them and did some teaching on why it is important to have their child in the car seat. They had a car seat in the car but they were driving and didn't have the child in the seat, so, um, it's just important for people to know where there are resources," Ruth Depalma, coordinator of the program said.

This is the 10th year the program has held the baby shower.
