COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police Department will be testing its gunshot detection system Tuesday night.
Officials said those in the Valley Hi, Park Hill and Pikes Peak Park neighborhoods may hear the gunshots during this time.
There is no danger to the public as the test is conducted.
CSPD said the tests consist of a sequence of gunshots that is followed by a notification of sound detection by the system.
Frangible bullets and a bullet trap will be used during the test, according to the department.
The department will conduct the live-fire calibration test between 8 and 10 p.m. tonight.
