CSPD makes three arrests in connection with Colorado Springs car theft ring

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police department has announced three arrests in connection with a Colorado Springs car theft ring.

CSPD announced the arrests of 21-year-old Kyle Miller and 33-year-old Thomas MacDonnell on Thursday.

The third suspect was not arrested in Colorado and is awaiting extradition.

Investigators believe the trio is behind a large-scale motor vehicle theft ring, stealing over 30 cars and targeting mostly Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks.

MacDonnell was charged with 18 counts of Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Second Degree Burglary, four counts of Felony Theft, two counts of Felony Criminal Trespass, one count of Vehicular Eluding and one count of attempted Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft.

Miller was charged with 11 counts of Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft and one count of Attempted Aggravated Motor Vehicle theft.
The third suspect is currently in custody in another state awaiting extradition.

Both were armed when arrested.
