COLORADO SPRINGS — Thanks to a recent donation, a member of the Colorado Springs Police Department will be safer on the job.

CSPD K9 Kylo this week received new body armor thanks to a charitable donation form non-profit, Vested Interests in K9s Inc.

The body armor is a bullet and stab resistant vest that will keep Kylo safe while he's helping to keep the citizens of Colorado Springs safe.

CSPD said the vest was sponsored by Debbie Uhalt of Colorado Springs and is emblazoned with the sentiment, "Honoring those who served and sacrificed."

According to CSPD, Vested Interst in K9s is a 501c(3) charity located in Massachusetts whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the US.
