COLORADO SPRINGS — If you're looking for a holiday gift that gives back, the 4th annual Colorado Springs Police Department K-9 calendar is on sale now.
These calendars highlight the department's 18 K-9s, and all proceeds go to support the Colorado Springs Police Department Cadet Program.
The Cadet Program allows individuals ages 14-21 in Colorado Springs to learn about law enforcement, while receiving mentorship and leadership.
CSPD says the main goal is not to recruit new officers, but to give our youngest community members strong leadership skills.
"Lots of leadership capabilities, definitely," said CSPD Cadet Lieutenant Kira Stump. "Like, even at school I can just, not take over, but I can help a lot in a group project, or I can keep things moving along, even in like friend groups. And I've definitely become more curious of asking questions like why? Why is this happening"
The calendars are $10 each. You can purchase them from the front desk of the Police Operations Center at 705 S. Nevada Ave from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. You can also order them by mail. For an online order form, CLICK HERE.
