CSPD investigating suspicious death on south side of city

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police are investigating a suspicious death on the city's south side.

At approximately 9:30 Saturday morning, CSPD officers and medical personnel responded to a report of a dead body behind the Deerfield Hill Community Center.

The body of an unidentified man was located and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We have quite an extensive scene, we have a large area cordoned off, and it's going to be quite some time while officers collect evidence," Lt. James Sokolik said.

No further information has been released.
