COLORADO SPRINGS — One person is in custody after allegedly hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene of the accident.

Colorado Springs police officers were called out to the 2100 block of East Platte Avenue just before midnight on Saturday.

According to police, the victim was crossing the street when the driver of the vehicle hit them and immediately took off.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers later arrested 26-year-old Ryan Olsen of Colorado Springs. He is facing charges of DUI, vehicular assault, and leaving the scene of a traffic crash. Olsen was not injured.
