EL PASO COUNTY — Colorado State Patrol is asking for witnesses to come forward following a deadly crash that took place east of Colorado Springs Monday night.
CSP is investigating a two-vehicle crash that happened before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Ellicott Highway and Judge Orr Road in El Paso County.
One driver died at the scene and the other remains uninjured, according to authorities.
Troopers said a 2003 Jeep Cherokee was traveling westbound Judge Orr Road and a 1997 Ford F350 was traveling northbound on Ellicott Highway. CSP said the driver of the Jeep did not yield the right of way and the Ford hit the driver's side of the Jeep.
CSP said both cars went off the northwest corner of the intersection and the Jeep went through a barbwire fence, landing on its wheels. Troopers said the Ford did a half roll and landed on its top.
The driver of the Jeep died on the scene, while the driver of the Ford was uninjured.
Troopers said they do not believe drugs or alcohol are a factor in this crash.
CSP is asking anyone who witnessed this crash to contact Trooper Joshua Yoder at (719) 544-2424.
