COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Fire Department are investigating an early morning fire in an apartment complex that is under construction.
Just before 3 a.m. on Saturday the Colorado Springs Fire Department was called out to a structure fire at 4383 Timberview Point, that is near Highway 115 and South Academy Blvd.
When crews got on scene, the third floor was fully engulfed in flames. CSFD says 57 firefighters responded to the structure fire and no other buildings were damaged
"We have been here a couple times over the last week for some small fires, so obviously that is something that our investigators are going to look into, to try and figure out if they are related or not," said Capt. Mike Smaldino withe the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
CSFD tells us some embers did go onto Highway 115, but crews kept a fire truck there to make sure there was no spot fires.
