COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs fire crews were able to contain an apartment fire on the east side of the city Wed. afternoon.
The Stratus Apartments are located in the 400 block of S. Murray Blvd.
CSFD reported heavy smoke and flames coming from a second story unit but crews were able to quickly contain the blaze.
Some crews are remaining on scene to ventilate the building. An investigation is also underway into what started the fire.
Two people and a dog and cat were able to escape the apartment safely.
No further information is available at this time.
