Crews knock down large grass fire in southeastern Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS — Fire crews were quick to knock down a large grass fire in southeast Colorado Springs mid-Friday morning.

A plume of thick smoke could be seen for miles coming from behind the King Soopers on South Academy.

No structures were threatened in the fire that spread through brush and trees.

There's no word yet on the cause of the fire.
