PUEBLO — It's peaceful, serene, and the view is gorgeous, but floating liter can obscure the fisherman's utopia, that is often known as Runyon Lake.

As part of Creek Week, the Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District, decided to coordinate a clean-up effort. Saturday, a small group of volunteers got their hands dirty to keep things clean, at the gorgeous lake in Pueblo.

"I am always surprised by the amount of litter we find," explained Andrew Rippe, Group leader of the clean-up.

Near the Runyon Lake entrance, trash pickers signed in, received a trash bag, grabber and gloves, and went to work! A couple of people even brought their boats to pick up trash, floating in the water.

"A lot of people out here are fisherman and they are starting to see us out here on a routine basis," Rippe said. "They understanding the benefits of it. They are out here catching fish and enjoying the wildlife, so why not keep it clean for us?"
