Crash on Highway 94 leaves 1 dead

EL PASO COUNTY — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday evening on Highway 94, east of Colorado Springs.

State Patrol said a vehicle traveling east on 94 lost control and began to spin. It traveled into the westbound lane and collided with another vehicle.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

State Patrol said at this time, alcohol and/or drug use is not considered to be a factor in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
