Crash involving cyclist briefly shuts down lanes of S. Nevada Avenue

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police briefly shut down northbound lanes of NB S. Nevada Avenue Tuesday morning after a crash involving a cyclist near the Kum & Go gas station north of I-25.

According to CSPD, a bicyclist was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of S. Nevada Avenue at Mill Street. The vehicle was starting to make a turn onto northbound S. Nevada Avenue when it struck the bicyclist.

The cyclist was transported to the hospital for his injuries. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Officers said the cause of the accident was because the cyclist was traveling the wrong way against traffic.
