COLORADO SPRINGS — Wednesday marks the one year anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House opening its location near Children's Hospital in Colorado Springs.
The charity helps families of sick children who are receiving treatment by providing a place for them to stay.
The new Colorado Springs location allows the Ronald McDonald House to help twice as many families and provide more modern spaces.
"The fact remains that kids get seriously and critically ill and they know nothing of COVID nor does a pandemic care anything about those children. So, for us, it was imperative that we were able to continue the services that the Ronald McDonald House provides," Development Director Sam Milan said.
Since it opened a year ago, 820 familes have been able to use the services the charity provides.
Although the pandemic has forced the Ronald McDonald House to adhere to social distancing guidelines, they are still able to continue their great work.
