Colorado Springs Police searching for driver in fatal hit and run on Academy Blvd.

COLORADO SPRINGS — New details from Colorado Springs Police on a crash that killed one person Thursday morning. Detectives are looking for the driver of a 1990 black Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup that hit a Honda, killing 52-year-old Rosalinda Jacquez.

Police say there was evidence at the scene indicating alcohol impairment may have played a role in the crash. The driver who left the scene on foot is described as a Hispanic male in his late 30's who may have facial injuries and a limp as a result of the crash.

Jacquez was making a left turn from S. Academy Blvd to Hancock when her car was struck. Her death is the 40th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2020.
