COLORADO SPRINGS — A 54-year old man is dead and the Colorado Springs police are now asking the public for help in finding the man's family. On Saturday, August 24th, at about 2:20 a.m., the man identified as John Park, stepped into the lanes of West Colorado Avenue between 25th and 26th streets. He was hit by a car and seriously injured.

The CSPD Major Crash Team investigated the crash and determined that Park was not in a crosswalk when he stepped into the westbound lanes of traffic. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Both directions of Colorado Avenue were closed for the investigation.

Park died from his injuries on Wednesday. Police are saying that the El Paso County Coroner's Office tried to find family members to notify them of Park's death, but no family members could be located. If you recognize his picture and you have any information, please contact the Colorado Springs police at 719-444-7000.
