1 dead after shooting at Colorado Springs nightclub, CSPD investigating

COLORADO SPRINGS — Just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning, Colorado Springs Police responded to a shooting at the "Social," a nightclub int he 3500 block of North Academy Blvd.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult woman and man both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both transported to a local hospital, but the woman died as a result of her injuries, CSPD said. The man sustained life threatening injuries and is in critical condition.

CSPD said a second man with non-life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound received during the incident was also contacted at the hospital.

CSPD detectives are investigating the incident and are investigating it as a homicide.

There is no danger to the public, but everyone involved has not been identified, according to CSPD. Anyone with information or who was a witness, is asked to call CSPD at (719) 444-7000, or CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous.
