COLORADO SPRINGS — Early Sunday afternoon, the Colorado Springs Fire Dept. (CSFD) responded to a grass fire in the area of the Pikes Peak Community College Rampart Range Campus.
CSFD said the fire was initially a half acre.
Fire crews were able to contain the blaze after it grew to nine acres. No structures were threatened.
CSFD said firefighters would remain at the scene to check for hotspots.
The fire was determined to be accidentally caused by a malfunctioning hobby drone that crashed.
