COLORADO SPRINGS — Many of us may not be ready for the early winter weather headed our way, but the City of Colorado Springs Public Works Dept. is.

While the forecast doesn't look like we will see heavy snow on the roads, crews are preparing nonetheless.

Last Friday afternoon, several city snowplows were prepared for the storm and crews are on standby if needed.

The warm temperatures should help keep the roads from being covered early on, but if there are problems, the plows will be out.

"It may be cold enough to start collecting on the grassy areas, but we don't expect a lot on the roadways at this point in time. Again, we always keep a watchful eye out. We'll have some folks ready, on standby, to respond if need be," Corey Farkas with Public Works said.

Farkas added that ice build-up on hills and overpasses could be an issue with this storm.
