MANITOU SPRINGS — A lot of hard work is ahead for crews moving and then refurbishing the iconic cog railway cars in Manitou Springs. The process began on Tuesday of moving them from their current location along Ruxton Avenue to another lot where they will be refurbished.
While the cars are being moved, one car will remain on the job to move riders. This is a challenging process for workers, we spoke with one of the truck drivers who said, ''There's four cars that you break in half, that makes eight pieces. We've got to take em across one at a time, set em on stands over there in the yard.''
With another round of winter weather moving in on Wednesday, the move has been postponed until Friday when the weather improves.
