LA JUNTA — Crews working to remove a clog from the flood pump system snapped out of any boredom with the job.

While checking the pump intake they found a common snapping turtle.

The turtles are native to Colorado and are often found in rivers.

The turtle was not harmed and was released into the Arkansas River.

Common snapping turtles can live to be more than 100 years old.
