AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Authorities have identified the civilian who died following NHL Stadium Series game at Air Force Academy Saturday night.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 31-year-old Adam Prewitt.

According to the Academy, the man, who is not affiliated with the AFA or Department of Defense in any way, died following the hockey game.

Neither the circumstances surrounding the man's death nor the location have been released.

The Academy said the death is being investigated by the Air Force Office of Special Investigation and local law enforcement agencies.

The AFA said no further details are available at this time.

A statement from the Academy about traffic issues at Saturday's game also briefly touched on the man's death, saying they are devastated and send condolences to his loved ones.

At the conclusion of the game, as we were routing traffic off base, there was a tragic incident at our North Gate that resulted in the death of one of our guests. Outbound traffic was immediately diverted to allow for emergency response crews and investigators to arrive on scene. While the details of that incident are still under investigation, we are devastated by the event and send the deepest condolences to his loved ones. We thank all of the crews who worked to clear traffic from the base despite only having one gate and we appreciate the patience and understanding of everyone impacted.
