FREDERICK — Lifetime announced it is making a movie based on the murder Shanann Watts and her two kids that happened last August, according to People Magazine.

People said the movie will use real-life events and taped confessions to break down the months that led up to Chris Watts killing Shanann Watts and their two daughters in August 2018.

The magazine said the movie, "The Chris Watts Story," will feature Sean Kleier ("Odd Mom Out") as Chris Watts, Ashley Williams ("How I Met Your Mother") as Shanann Watts, and Brooke Smith ("Bates Motel") as Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent Tammy Lee, the agent who interviewed Watts.

The film is slated to premiere next year and People Magazine said the network will have a Public Service Announcement after the movie to "stop violence against women" by providing resources and information.

Watts confessed to the murders in an over five hours long interview with the FBI. He is serving three life sentences and 84 years for the crime.
