COLORADO SPRINGS — A lot of drivers are going north of Colorado Springs to save a few bucks at the pump.

People have been letting News 5 know that they've noticed prices are 20 to 40 cents cheaper in places around the Monument and Tri-Lakes area.

One man News 5 spoke to said you have to get it while the getting is good.

"23 bucks....You cannot beat that. I'd do a back flip for you but I'd probably hurt myself," the man said.

The average price for gas in Colorado Springs is $2.59/gallon. It's about six cents cheaper than in Denver and some of the lowest prices in the state are in Pueblo.
