COLORADO SPRINGS — Have you ever dreamed of being an astronaut?

Well, now's your chance.

On Thursday, the Challenger Learning Center in Academy District 20 celebrated its dedication and grand opening. This is Colorado's only hands-on student space exploration program and it honors the seven astronauts who were killed in the 1986 Challenger explosion.

Allison Cortez, director for communication for Academy District 20, said, "This is a living, learning memorial for the folks that were on that mission and their goal is to instill that love of science and learning and space."

The community is invited to attend a free open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
