MONUMENT — The Colorado Department of Transportation announced Thursday that crews will not be shutting down one southbound lane of I-25 overnight on Saturday.
In an email announcement sent Thursday, CDOT said the gap project team is looking at alternative methods to do the drainage work that prompted the planned closure beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday night and ending at 11 a.m. Sunday.
Crews planned to reduce traffic to one lane on the southbound side for two miles from County Line Road to Highway 105 in Monument to complete drainage improvements on the highway.
CDOT had warned drivers that extensive delays were possible for anyone traveling south of Larkspur this weekend.
The $350 million project will add a third express lane to I-25 between Monument and Castle Rock. The project is expected to be complete in 2022.
