CAÑON CITY — The Cañon City School District is changing the way it serves free meals this summer.

Due to COVID-19, meals will only be served from the district's mobile van.

Food will be served at five different locations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to people under 19 years old.

"This is a cornerstone of our community this program, people rely on it, they depend on it. The kids need access to food during the summer," Director of Support Services Paula Buser said.

The program serves more than 1,000 meals a day.
