CANON CITY — Using the splash pad at Centennial Park in Canon City is going to look different this summer.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the city is struggling to open the splash pad.
Some ideas include fencing off the splash pad and a reservation system that would only allow 20 to 25 kids on the pad at a time.
Proposals will be presented to Fremont County Health soon.
Another issue the city is facing is having enough staff to monitor the splash pad.
Due to COVID-19, the city had to cut its budget and seasonal staff have not yet been hired.
