Blog: Blizzard-like conditions impact southern Colorado

Extremely strong wind speeds and blowing snow is impacting southern Colorado. Wind gusts near the Colorado Springs Airport was reported as 64 mph.

Weather has calmed down for now and there are no major accidents to report. Because of this, there are no more updates to be added. If there are any major updates, this blog will be live again and continuously updated.

Snow Squall Warning issued in northeast El Paso County. Meteorologist Sam Schreier explains what this warning means:

10:54 a.m.

A high wind warning remains in effect for El Paso County until 2:00 p.m. Be prepared for gusts from 30 mph to 65 mph. El Paso County Public Works has dispatched trucks to Monument and Black Forest to address areas where slick conditions exist.

El Paso County is under a high wind advisory. High profile and lightweight vehicles are advised to use caution on the roads. CSP is on cold reporting for the county.

White-out conditions are creating poor driving conditions in Colorado Springs. Avoid the road if you can.
